Grace and Mercy - Highs and Lows

Contrasting emotions of fire, clouds, sunshine and rain empower the viewer to explore the dual nature of our lives. Just as shadows need light, and warmth needs cold to exist, so in this work the fires of a hot day are contrasted by the sweeping clouds of the coming cool evening. Or is it the other way around?

This work captivates the imagination and allows the viewer to focus on multiple aspects of the painting simultaneously, due to the sweeping nature of the cloud formation. Heavenly clouds partially obscure a waxing or waning light.
